kubrick edited film on a black & white screen so color wouldn’t distract him
At a dinner party I told a woman that Wes Anderson slows all of his films down to 90% of their normal speed. The effect, though nearly imperceptible to the human eye, is what gives the movies their dreamlike quality.
She was astounded. I confessed it was just a joke, but she didn’t believe me. She said it sounded more true than the truth. She said she would tell all of her friends that Wes Anderson’s movies are slowed down to 90% of their normal speed.
“How do you know he doesn’t?” she asked me. “Can you prove it?”
